My luck ran out at that time.

The other day, I draw the lots.(Gara Gara) I failed as I had expected. My luck ran out at THAT TIME. It was several years ago. I was out for shopping. I called my daughter and told her that I would be back home soon. At that time she told me she won the second prize in the lottery(Gara Gara) and got 10000yen. Nobody in my family have ever won the lottery. After the call, I remembered I had some lottery tickets too and tried to draw the lots. Luckily I won the second prize in the lottery too. I went home cheerfully. My daughters and I were pleased with our good fortune. After a while, my husband came home. He seemed to be a little bit excited, because he won the second prize in the lottery too. We won 30000yen on the same day. All our life we have never won the lottery. That was for the first time and for the last time.

The mobile phone and I

The mobile phone has many convenient functions, but I don't master it at all. Usually I seldom use the mobile phone. Young people are flexible in their thinking, so they can accept new ideas and new values quickly. On the train I am impressed by their fingering on the mobile phone. I always pull back when an unexpected device comes up. For example, I was surprised at the advent of the computer. Several years passed, at last I started touching the computer. In my mind, I understand the world is changing rapidly and the progress of technology has made our life far more comfortable, and I have to catch up with times. But, but....

Like mother, like daughter.

Yesterday I called my younger daughter and asked her to teach me how to use the computer. She lives within a stone's throw of my house. ( It takes only one minute on foot.) She and her husband came to my house soon. The first thing she says is "I have already taught you this thing." And she added," You are slow on the uptake." She is hard on me, and speaks in an angry tone. On the other hand, her husband is very kind, and the language he uses is tender. I wonder if she know s"Like mother, like daughter." I am a fool means you are a fool. After the computer, they had lunch merrily. This is the same pattern.

College Life

About two months have passed since I entered Ferris. I am almost satisfied with college life. But homeworks are too much for me. This is beyond my expectation. I can't do my homeworks efficiently. Especially, I dislike writing. The closer I got to the deadline for homeworks, the more depressed I got. I used to drink wine or beer every day before dinner, but now I drink only on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Anyway now is an exciting and rewarding time for me, I think.

I can't stop eating snacks.

The original purpose of having a snack was to supplement nutrition. But now, the life style changed a lot, and our snacking habits changed too. Undoubtedly I feel happy when I have a delicious cake with a cup of tea. On the other hand, I worry about overweight and obesity. I know snacks are in fact a bigger culprit than anyone realized. I know cakes are packed with a greater concentration of calories. I know I have to choose an apple than a piece of cake. I know physical activity will boost our metabolism and tone our bodies. But I can't stop eating cakes.
I CAN have my cake and eat it too.
